“Giving birth should be your greatest achievement, not your greatest fear.” - Jane Weideman

“I was able to have the birth I wanted because of how prepared I was for labor after taking Yolanda's childbirth education class. I know that my husband was able to support me in the best way possible because he felt confident after taking the class. Our experience with Yolanda was a highlight of our pregnancy. It was our weekly date night! I'm so grateful for the experience and happy we decided to take Yolanda's class. I would recommend this course, hands down, for anyone interested in learning more about pregnancy and birth and especially for people who want a medication free childbirth!”

“Like so many soon-to-be-moms, I had NO idea what a doula was or why in the world I wanted one at my birth.  And then we met Yolanda... and birthing would never be the same.  From the educational classes she provided during pregnancy to the personalized care we received during birthing, Yolanda created a calm, loving space where we could feel empowered and cared for.  Yolanda has been our doula for both our VBAC water, home births and we would highly recommend her to any couple!”

“Yolanda offers a unique childbirth education experience. My husband and I loved coming to class each week. We drove 45 minutes each way to make it there and it was worth every minute. She invited us into her home like we were family. We had the chance to build relationships with her and the other class members. When you go to class at Yolanda’s house, you sit back, take off your shoes, and relax while munching on popcorn or warm bread. Then she showers you with helpful information, funny stories, and great opportunities to ask questions and ponder the crazy and exciting journey that is pregnancy and birth. I am a licensed midwife and a registered nurse. My husband and I attended class to learn more about relaxation and to help me get into a “mommy mindset” instead of always thinking about things as the clinician. I enjoyed learning from Yolanda because she has an excellent clinical knowledge base, a large basis of personal experience, and the humor and wit necessary to deliver it all in an enjoyable package. Yolanda is the kind of person who is always happy to take a few extra minutes to explain something. She is kind and supportive. When I labored with my son for 30 hours before his birth, I can truly say I used the techniques I practiced with Yolanda. Regardless of how you labor or birth your baby, Yolanda’s classes will help you to remember what is important to focus on and how to be healthy and happy overall. At the end of the class you walk away with a basket full of ideas and new techniques for relaxation and coping with stress. My husband and I will be sure to visit Yolanda again when it’s time for our next baby too. Thanks for everything Yolanda!”

“Yolanda is a wealth of knowledge and resources.  Her personal birth experiences and hands-on involvement with other births add such valuable insight to the class.  Though I ended up with a breech baby and a cesarean, I had tremendous comfort in the months leading up to the birth that I was well-informed and well-prepared for virtually any birth scenario.  To me, her classes are an all-encompassing approach to preparing for birth, both physically and mentally.  It's an education in all facets of labor and delivery, and I like that it promotes understanding and embracing the natural events of childbirth.  I also like that it promotes nutrition and health for mom and baby well before the actual birth.  Yolanda's class thoroughly prepared me for a natural childbirth, as well as other necessary medical interventions.  But the thing that I appreciate the most about Yolanda is that she truly cares about her students, and she provides comforting advice and help in any way that she can.”

“We feel so fortunate and grateful to have been referred to Yolanda's Bradley classes through another instructor in the area. She came highly recommended as a knowledgeable Bradley instructor and doula with many years of experience. She did not fail to live up to her reputation. As a first time mom, I was extremely anxious throughout my pregnancy but from our first correspondence Yolanda immediately made me feel at ease. We took her childbirth course and soon after meeting her also decided to hire her as our doula. The classes were informative and fun and helped my husband and I to feel educated and confident to advocate for our baby and our desires medically throughout our pregnancy, labor, and childbirth. Throughout our classes and home visits prior to my delivery Yolanda took the time to get to know my husband and I and provided ongoing support before, during, and in the weeks following the birth. She was an integral part of my labor and delivery. After an unexpected fast start to my labor, it stalled, and Yolanda was by my bedside for over 12 hours of labor providing knowledge and advice through decisions we were faced with medically, as well as provided emotional support and comfort for both my husband and myself. I truly believe that without her my labor would have ended with a C-section, which was my biggest fear. She held my leg and helped brace me for the almost two hours I was pushing into the early hours of the morning (my daughter was born at 1:48 AM). She helped us get to the natural delivery I wanted while helping us navigate the bumps along the way getting there. She is now forever a part of our family and will be our doula for any other children we are blessed to have, if she will have us! “
